Cervical screening tests, urine tests, blood tests etc are carried out at the request of the doctors.
The best time to contact the Practice for your results is by telephone between 2pm and 5pm.
Smear tests can take three to four weeks to be reported, you will be contacted with the results directly by the NHS Cervical Screening Programme.
The receptionist may only be able to report what the doctor has stated eg. that it is normal or that you will have to see the doctor.
The receptionists are not qualified to interpret results and are not able to give clinical information.
